Yes, you may arrive early or stay later or plan an extended layover somewhere.
DO I HAVE TO FLY WITH THE GROUP?
No, as you wish, you may either choose to fly with the group or book your own flights and meet the group at the Tel Aviv Airport.
DO I NEED TO BE A PARISHIONER?
No, all are welcome.
ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN COSTS?
No. You purchase your flights and insurance separately. Tips and drinks are extra cost. A free-will offering will be taken up at the Masses for the local church.
DAY 1: Monday, January 20, 2020 – Depart North America
Depart on flights to Israel. Meals on flight.
DAY 2: Tuesday, January 21, 2020 – Tel Aviv, Tiberias
Arrival at Tel Aviv Airport. Exit terminal and meet our guide. Bus transfer to Tiberias (Sermon on the Mount) on the Sea of Galilee, our home for the next four nights. Welcome dinner at hotel, Mass and overnight in Tiberias. Meals on flight. D
DAY 3: Wednesday, January 22, 2020 – Nazareth, Cana, Mt. Tabor
This morning we visit Nazareth, the hometown of the Holy Family. Mass at the Basilica of the Annunciation, built atop the home of the Blessed Mother. Special visit to the church of St. Joseph, built over where the Holy Family lived. Drive to Cana of Galilee to pray where Christ performed his first public miracle. Renewal of wedding vows for married couples. After lunch, drive to Mt. Tabor to visit the mighty church of the Transfiguration. Dinner and overnight at Mount of Beatitudes Tiberias. B,L,D
DAY 4: Thursday, January 23, 2020 – Mt. of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Tabgha, Sea of Galilee
Mass at the peaceful Mt. of Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee where Jesus gave his most important sermon – the Sermon on the Mount. Visit Capernaum to see the hometown of the Apostles, including the house of St. Peter and the synagogue. Enjoy St. Peter’s fish for lunch. Visit the church of the Multiplication at Tabgha where Jesus fed the crowd of 5,000 men. Conclude the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight at Mount of Beatitudes Tiberias. DAY 5: Friday, January 24, 2020 – Caesarea Philippi, Golan Heights, Druze Village
Mass at the Primacy of Peter site on the shores of the Sea of Galilee where Christ appeared after his Resurrection to seven of his apostles and said to Peter: “Feed my sheep.” Drive to the Golan Heights and visit Caesarea Philippi where Christ declared St. Peter the first pope. See where Jesus asked the disciples: “Who do you say that I am?” Visit an interesting Druze village for lunch. See Lebanon and Syria across the border. Dinner and overnight at Mt. of Beatitudes Tiberias. B,L,D
DAY 6: Saturday, January 25, 2020 – Haifa, Mt. Carmel, Samaria, Caesarea Maritima, Jerusalem
Scenic drive to the ancient place of pilgrimage, Mt. Carmel. Visit Stella Maris Convent and the Prophet Elisha’s cave. See Haifa and enjoy the view of the Mediterranean Sea. Visit to Caesarea Maritima on the sea, if there is time. Next, we make our way to the holy city of Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem. B,L,D
DAY 7: Sunday, January 26, 2020– Bethlehem, Ein Karim
Bethlehem to visit the ancient Church of the Nativity, built atop the grotto where Christ was born. Enter the original cave and pray. See where Mary laid Christ in a manger. Visit St. Catherine’s Latin Rite church, the cave where St. Jerome lived and the Milk Grotto Shrine. Sing Silent Night in the chapel of Shepherd’s Fields, where our group will celebrate the Mass of Christmas. Time for shopping at a Christian shop. Next we make our way to the village of Ein Karem to visit the church of the Visitation, the home of Elizabeth. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem. B,L,D
DAY 8: Monday, January 27, 2020 – Jerusalem
Follow the footsteps of Christ to Mt. Scopus and the Mt. of Olives, visit the church of the Pater Noster, Dominus Flevit, the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. After lunch visit Mt. Zion to see Dormition Abbey (Our Lady’s Falling Asleep), the ruins of the house of Caiphas, St. Peter’s in Gallicantu (where St. Peter denied Our Lord three times) and the Upper Room of the Last Supper. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem. B,L,D
DAY 9: Tuesday, January 28, 2020 – Jerusalem
Today we spend the day in the Old City of Jerusalem in the footsteps of the Passion of Christ. Before dawn we trace the final footsteps of Christ on the Via Dolorosa (Stations of the Cross), beginning at the location of the former Antonia Fortress where Pilate lived, leading finally to the holiest shrine in the Christian world, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Mass on Mt. Calvary. There we visit the empty tomb of Our Lord and Mt. Calvary, the highlight of our pilgrimage. After lunch we visit St. Anne’s Crusader church at the Pools of Bethesda and the Wailing Wall. Overnight in Bethlehem. B,L,D
DAY 10: Wednesday, January 29, 2020 – Jordan River, Qumran, Dead Sea, Jericho
Today we drive into the scenic countryside to see the desert. At the Jordan River we see where Christ was baptized by St. John the Baptist. Renewal of Baptismal Vows. Then on to Jericho for lunch. Visit to Qumran to see the site of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Optional float in the Dead Sea. Final farewell dinner in Bethlehem and time to pack. B,L,D
DAY 11: Thursday, January 30, 2020 – Depart Israel
Return flights home. Meals on flight.

Tips for this tour are extra: $165 USD per person, to be collected in cash by the tour director the first full day of the tour and distributed by him.
